An exciting opportunity has arisen in our friendly department for a motivated and enthusiastic individual as one of our Pharmacy Dispensary Assistants. The variety and diversity of this role will involve, working in the Dispensary, organising the supply of childhood vaccinations and providing cover for the Stores & Distribution team. This will allow you to gain a well-rounded understanding of the pharmacy workflow.

What You'll Need:

  • GPHC Approved L2 Pharmacy Qualification (or willingness to work towards).

  • Team focussed, and able to complete tasks independently

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Dispensary Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Dispense prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients under pharmacist supervision

  • Receive and verify prescriptions from patients and carers

  • Support the storage and supply of vaccines for the school immunisation service

  • Safely handle and dispense cytotoxic medicines, including oral chemotherapy, in line with SOPs

  • Perform reception duties such as answering calls, filing, shredding, and scanning documents into electronic systems
