We’re excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and forward-thinking Aseptics Team.

 As we continue to expand our aseptic services, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of advanced therapeutic medicinal products, emerging therapies, and clinical trials.

About You

  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician

  • Experience in aseptic services, with a strong understanding of GMP and quality systems

  • A proactive approach to supervision and coordination in a clinical setting

  • A commitment to continuous improvement and patient safety

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Lead Senior Technician, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare, process check, and coordinate aseptic products including CIVAS, PN, cytotoxics, and ATMPs

  • Assemble and verify trays for manufacture; write, label, and check worksheets

  • Ensure accurate costing and tracking of materials and consumables

  • Contribute to quality management and investigate deviations

  • Support senior technicians in daily operations and staff training

  • Manage day-to-day activities and assist in writing procedures within the aseptic unit

  • Support staff training and development within the unit

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • On GPHC register
  • BTEC in pharmaceutical sciences, NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Services or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Completed nationally accredited product approval accreditation programme
  • Completed a management programme

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of pharmacy aseptic dispensing or within a pharmaceutical production facility
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Experience in recruiting staff Participated in EL audits
  • Hospital pharmacy experience
  • Paediatric pharmacy experience
  • Experience of using electronic systems such as chemocare, ascribe or JAC

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of GMP guidelines
  • Good IT skills
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of GCP, COSHH, and health and safety standards
