An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and well organised individual to join the Specialised Cancer Services Reception Team at Weston Park Hospital.

The team support our clinical colleagues with running the receptions across the hospital as well as the transport department. 

Mon to Fri - two roles one at 37.5 hours and one at 30 hours

Main duties of the job

To provide a friendly and efficient reception of patients, visitors and staff attending the Radiotherapy, and Outpatient Departments at Weston Park Hospital.

To carry out general administrative duties, and ensure that all clinical and nursing staff are supported.

To book patient appointments and to ensure that all clinical activity is recorded accurately on the Trust’s patient administration system on the day of activity. To ensure that all patients are added to the appropriate waiting or review list, so that no patients are ‘lost to follow up"

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Experience of working in a public facing role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a public facing role

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience Infoflex / 59R Software
  • Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area specific software)

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels
  • Displays use of initiative with effective organisational skill
