Job overview
To work with senior nursing colleagues and have responsibility for role specific education and teaching of community nurses. To develop specialist packages of education, training and clinical skills programmes to meet the needs of staff and better the patient experience. To develop and support the role out of specialist competency packages and contribute to the training of staff within community services to achieve the specialist skills and knowledge, required to care for patients in community settings. This role will be key to supporting the service to have staff who are clinically competent to manage patients with increasing levels of complexity within the community undertaking procedures which may have previously been carried out in a hospital setting.
Main duties of the job
Promote a positive learning environment, which facilitates the development and educational needs of staff, utilising all available learning opportunities and resources.
To be responsive to service developments, developing and implementing relevant clinical skills training to support rapid implementation.
To demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in developing and delivery clinical skills training in the community setting.
Lead on provision of clinical skills education for staff, patients, and carers to meet the specific needs of housebound patients including but not limited to end of life care, pressure care and bowel/bladder/tracheostomy care.
Lead and promote high quality care by supporting the development and the delivery of clinical skills packages for staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse.
- Current NMC Registration.
- Degree level study (on Degree pathway).
- To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
Desirable criteria
- Working towards or educated to Master's level.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of training and education.
- Meets Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for student supervision and assessment (formally Mentorship) if relevant to role
- Has understanding / experience of adult / child safeguarding
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a professional team
- Ability to manage complex workload under pressure and prioritise to meet deadlines
- Evidence of developing and leading programmes of education and or training
Desirable criteria
- Research or audit experience.

- Evidence of continuous personal & professional development
- Current advanced clinical knowledge and skill in specialty
