Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of the Clinical Support Team in the Neurology department.

The position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and a compassionate, patient-centred approach.

Main duties of the job

  • Filing, data input, photocopying, letter writing etc. 
  • Working collaboratively within a team and individually
  • Communicating with patients and service users over the phone or face-to-face
  • Dealing with patient case notes whilst maintaining high levels of confidentiality
  •  Ensuring patient case notes and the electronic patient record systems remain up-to-date
  • Manage your own workload and ask for support when required

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level II in Business Admin/Customer Service/IT

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Experience communicating directly with service users/customers, carers & relatives, both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Demonstrable track record achieving deadlines and targets
  • Experience using patient administration systems or similar databases
  • An awareness of the challenges currently facing the NHS
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience within the NHS

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further job-relevant education and training
