Qualifications

Essential criteria

Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
Healthcare Diploma or equivalent
To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.

Desirable criteria

Post-registration qualification in Infection Control at Level 3 (Certificate in Infection Control or equivalent) or willingness to complete
Bachelors Degree in health-related subject or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

Relevant experience working at AFC Band 5 (or equivalent) to include some experience within an acute NHS setting or comparable healthcare environment.
Experience as Infection Prevention and Control Link Worker or able to demonstrate application of Infection Prevention and Control knowledge in clinical areas

Desirable criteria

Experience of secondment to Infection Prevention and Control Team
Research or audit experience

Skills

Essential criteria

Evidence of professional development
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of working effectively as part of a Team and in ways that are consistent with the Trust’s PROUD values

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
