Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, with Specialist Practitioner Occupational Health
NMC part 3 registration

Desirable criteria

Counselling

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of sickness absence and case management.
Experience of Health surveillance and outbreak management
Experience of supervising and motivating staff
A clear understanding of the major OH issues affecting the NHS
Experience of developing and implementing National Guidance/Health and Safety Policy into Occupational Health Policy and procedure
European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent IT experience

Desirable criteria

Previous experience of Occupational Health Nursing in the NHS
First line management experience
Car owner/driver
IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
Experience in developing evidence based practice
Experience of working with external client contracts
Experience of gathering data and producing reports

Further Training

Essential criteria

Willingness to undertake any further training/development as identified in annual appraisal.

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
