Job overview
MSK have a vacancy for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the Team. This exciting post provides the opportunity to develop your Musculoskeletal assessment and treatment skills within a large Teaching Hospital and regional Major Trauma Centre.
The post is one of five specialist band 5 roles, with rotations across both hospital based services and community venues. Each rotation includes a comprehensive induction program, regular supervision and learning opportunities from a team of highly specialist and experienced fellow Physiotherapists, as well as colleagues from the wider MDT. You will also be able to develop your own mentoring skills through student supervision.
Working Hours/Pattern: 37.5 hours a week. 1 weekend in 8 (approx) to cover orthopaedic weekend rosters (lieu days encouraged). Some rotations may include an 8pm finish one day per week.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder is responsible for delivering high quality physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
- Carry a clinical caseload, planning and prioritising own work and seeking assistance and guidance when needed.
- Negotiate and set appropriate, realistic and individualised therapy goals in partnership with the patient, carer and colleagues.
- Provide competent cover for absent colleagues.
- Demonstrate behaviour which is sensitive to the needs and values of others seeking mutual understanding, respect and consideration.
- Respond calmly and positively in times of conflict or uncertainty, seeking appropriate assistance to achieve a resolution.
- Communicate effectively and accurately to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop collaborative interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary working relationships.
- Promote an understanding of the profession and contribute to the sharing of learning across professional and organisational boundaries.
- Contribute to audit and service evaluation to provide therapy which is efficient, effective and responsive to user feedback.
- Assist in producing evidence for infection control audit.
- Work within guidelines and procedures set out in safe systems of work.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of STHFT and NHS strategy and values.
- Continue personal and professional development as agreed with the Senior Therapist during appraisal and supervision.
