Support Medical Secretary

Applications are invited from motivated individuals who are looking for the opportunity to develop their proven secretarial skills in a busy and fast paced department.
Our busy secretariat serves over 40 consultant oncologists, who work both at our central Weston Park Hospital site and at District General Hospitals across South Yorkshire.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we are working towards digitising a lot of our processes to benefit patients and teams.
The successful candidate will need to be an excellent team player and able to work using their own initiative. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual who must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while consistently working accurately.
The main duty of the post will be to support the Medical Secretariat in their duties, as well as typing of dictations, demonstrating a strong commitment to the Sheffield NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust’s PROUD values.

To undertake the medical secretarial role in order to provide:
A comprehensive secretarial service to the Consultant and the medical team.
Information to a whole range of professions involved in cancer care.
A link and point of contact for patients and their representatives.
Quality and up to date patient case notes which are available.
Cover within the medical secretariat generally.

The medical secretariat is split in to three teams comprising of Medical Secretaries, Support Secretaries and Audio Typists.
