Support the provision of the dispensary, ward and community based services to enable the smooth, seamless and efficient supply of medicines across the Trust. The Band 3 Senior ATO will supervise the band 2 ATOs on a daily basis and will work under the supervision of the dispensary manger, pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

To assist the pharmacy team (under the supervision of a registered pharmacy professional) in providing a high quality service to patients, customers and pharmacy staff in the dispensaries and within the Trust, by promoting a positive and professional image of pharmacy and demonstrating good customer care skills. The post holder will take an active role in accurately dispensing medicines to provide an efficient and timely service and participate in reception duties. Take part in the management of stock, including ordering from suppliers, receiving good from suppliers, storing stock and actively participating in routine stock checks.

The potholder will provide daily supervision to ATOs and support the dispensary with the provision of the efficient, accurate, timely and safe supply of medicines across the hospital and Community Services. The post holder is expected to use judgement and initiative in solving their own and others problems but refer to senior pharmacy professionals when necessary.
