Job overview

An exciting opportunity is available as Clinical Lead in the Autism Assessment Team in BeeU. 

BeeU is the secondary care Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)  that provides care to children, young people and families in Telford, Shropshire and Wrekin. 

BeeU is made up of a Core Mental Health Team, Community Eating Disorder Team, Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities and Autism Team. 

This role will be suitable for a Psychologist who has experience of working with children with neurodiversity and who is experienced in or would like to progress into a Clinical Lead position. 

 

Main duties of the job

The Autism Assessment team is a diagnostic assessment team that provides NICE compliant diagnostic assessment to children and young people who live in Telford, Shropshire and Wrekin. 

The successful applicant will the clinical lead, overseeing the diagnostic process and chairing Multi-Disciplinary Meetings.   The role will provide leadership over the service and provide supervision to to MDT. 

The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of undertaking Autistic Spectrum Condition assessments. It is desirable that they are trained and experienced  in ADOS and ADI assessments.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The main duties of the role will be:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to the team. 
  • Attendance at weekly Multi Disciplinary Team Meetings  to support team.
  • Provide guidance and where needed meet with complex clients.
  • Review of referrals with team.
  • Review and manage waiting list processes.
  • Consult on clients presenting with risk.
  • Consult with other parts of the service around meeting the needs of young people with autistic spectrum conditions.
