Operational Services Manager Band 5 

An exciting opportunity has arise for a band 5 operational services manager for the Cardiology Directorate.

You will assist the Directorate Management Senior Team, as directed by the Directorate Manager / Matron in the efficient and effective operational management of resources within Cardiology and Cardiology Diagnostics in order  to deliver continually improving high quality patient care within the resources available.

Main duties of the job

Some of the key duties of the role include:

  • Manage Medical Secretarial and Diagnostic Administration Staff
  • RTT, Diagnostic and long wait pathway validation.     
  •          Clinic management to ensure clinics are fully utilised 
  •          Monitor sickness absence, Statutory and Mandatory training and PDRs in accordance with Trust Policy and ensure regular reporting is provided.
  •          Support with medical staffing enquiries and rota coverage.
  •          Work closely with the wider Directorate team to ensure operational management is covered

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge
Desirable criteria
  • Diploma/Degree in Management or health related subject

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 2 years experience of working in an acute Trust (working to degree level) in a management role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of management of change issues
  • Experience in introducing innovative practice

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Operational management skills
  • Leadership and team building skills, able to develop strong multi-disciplinary relationship
  • Ability to work in a high pressured environment & work to deadlines
  • Ability to develop and deliver action plans in relation to the NHS Agenda
  • Able to positively influence to ensure effective and efficient delivery of service
  • Awareness of NHS plan access Targets
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the business planning process
  • Knowledge of workforce planning
