To apply, you must be an experienced nurse who has evidence of looking after acutely ill patients. You must be able to work independently and make clear decisions.
We are seeking a senior staff nurse who is dynamic and forward-thinking and has 18 months experience working in an oncology/haematology environment.
You will need to have excellent organisational skills and experience in leadership.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a senior staff nurse to join the oncology and haematology inpatient ward at the cancer centre.
You must have a passion for acute nursing and be able to demonstrate good knowledge of oncological and haematological emergencies.
The possession of the SACT passport is essential.
The ideal candidate will have considerable clinical skills and be enthusiastic to develop their knowledge further to ensure a high standard of care is given to every patient in our care.
You must be familiar with the UKONS triage tool.
Good understanding of effective patient flow with other emergency portals in the Trust.

- Must Have experience working in an acute setting
Desirable criteria
- Have good knowledge of oncological/Haematological Emergencies
- Knowledge of the Triage system and good understanding of the UKONS triage tool
Communication

- Good knowledge of patient pathways
Desirable criteria
- Ability to make good decisions and set clear outcomes
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse on NMC Register
Desirable criteria
- Degree in Nursing or health/nursing related studies or evidence of continuing academic progression
- Current SACT Passport and have an excellent understanding of chemotherapy administration.
- Formal leadership and management training

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
