Job overview

**We can offer up to 10% welcome bonus of the total first year salary.  This will be paid at 50% on commencement of employment and 50% following 12 months employment.**

We are developing an outstanding assessment and intervention based Occupational Therapy (OT) Service within community mental health services, which will give you as Senior OT the opportunity to deliver an array of Occupational Therapy Assessments via our newly formed Occupational Therapy Clinic based at the Independent Living Centre (ILC) in Telford.

The ILC is a hub of activity housing social care, assistive technology, and community equipment occupational therapy teams to name a few. Within the Occupational Therapy Clinic at the ILC, our Occupational Therapists have access to a demonstration kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and stairs which are kitted out with all basic equipment such as bath boards, commodes, stair lifts, raised toilet seats, bed leavers and more, which can be prescribed by our OT team.

The OT team continues to be motivated to make positive changes to the community mental health service and the lives of those who use it. We are looking for a self-driven and enthusiastic individual who can bring new and innovative ideas to enhance the OT service.

  • Working in an identified adult community mental health service.
  • Delivering a high quality clinical service to patients and their families.
  • Managing caseload and responsible for clinical and caseload supervision of other team members where identified.
  • The post holder will be responsible for providing the occupational therapy process to a specialist clinical pathway.
  • Delivering occupational therapy interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of people experiencing mental health related difficulties.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Dip COT or degree in Occupational Therapy
  • BAOT Registered
  • Health And Care Professions Council Registered Occupational Therapist
  • Member of College of Occupational Therapy
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of extensive post registration experience with working with adults experiencing mental health related difficulties
  • Experience of integrating care delivery across multi-disciplinary /multi-agency teams
  • Post and pre- registration experience in a range of clinical settings
