We currently have an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to join our teams based at Wilnecote Health Centre in Tamworth, which provides a range of Children and Young People services under one roof.

You will be responsible for providing confidential and efficient receptionist support to the services at Wilnecote Health Centre.  As part of the role, you will be expected to follow instructions, prioritise your workload and demonstrate initiative in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.  You will receive support, guidance and supervision to work in a fast-paced environment and work within prescribed parameters.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential plus an ability to deal with sensitive phone calls and be a key member of the team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Children’s and Families Care Group.

This is a post that requires the post holder to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies in supporting access to the service in a variety of ways.


The post holder will work with Administration colleagues to ensure that processes are streamlined and therefore increasing capacity in the locality teams.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • RSA Stage II Word Processing / Text Processing or equivalent
  • ECDL/CLAIT IT qualification or equivalent
  • English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or equivalent or Functional skills (English and Maths) Level 2

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Microsoft Office Applications: Word/Outlook/Excel
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Evidence of/willingness to undertake training relevant to the post.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and writing in an effective way with people from a variety of backgrounds and different ages.
  • Excellent organisational skills
Desirable criteria
  • Use of RiO
  • Administrative experience of working in services for children
  • Ability to learn and take initiative once trained
