Do you want to make a difference to Children, Young People and Families? Have you ever thought about a career as a Health Visitor or School Nurse? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! 

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation University Trust (MPFT) are looking for forward thinking, creative, dynamic and enthusiastic nurses or midwives that are passionate about health visiting or school nursing.   

We have a number of funded places at Keele University for the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting annotation or School Nursing annotation), which will be at master's level. There will be a balance of theory and practice learning opportunities. 

MPFT and Keele university will help you develop into the next leaders, you need to bring determination, compassion, care and a commitment to achieve your goal. Applicants must hold a NMC pin and be resident within the UK. 

Successful applicants will be employed as a midpoint band 5, under an MPFT fixed term contract for the duration of the course which will run from January 2025 until January 2026.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Working as part of the 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nurse Service, you will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in accordance with national and local strategy/guidance. This includes the provision of conducting universal mandated contacts and packages of care in line with evidence-based practice.

You will work in partnership with partner agencies in the identification and protection of vulnerable children and contribute to the development of care plans, working in accordance with local and professional guidelines. You will contribute to the completion of agreed outcomes for delegated Child Protection cases as per agreed multi-agency care plan ensuring regular communication with caseload holder. 

Throughout the course and placements you will develop and grow confidence in your leadership abilities and skills, becoming a competent public health practitioner. You will have a willingness to engage with digital technologies, developing your skills and competencies in this area.

MPFT and Keele offer the opportunity for qualified health visitors and schools nurses to complete a Transfer of Fields course providing the competencies and knowledge to further extend your skills and knowledge enabling Specialist Practitioners to support children throughout their journey from childhood into young adulthood.

The 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nursing Service operates an open access service to children and families within home, community, and primary care settings to promote a healthy lifestyle within the local population giving particular attention to the identified health needs of the locality.  To address inequalities in health, through participation, collaboration, empowerment and primary care, you will deliver the agreed range of planned universal services, assess health needs, identify vulnerability and deliver targeted interventions to meet the needs of children and their families/ carers.
