Job overview
AAU is a Thriving, innovative, front door service consistent of 23 assessment trolleys which operates 24 hours a day, linking directly with the Emergency Department and various Clinicians in the Community and will attend to patients with diverse medical needs. The Same Day Emergency Care Centre is also co-located in this Unit to provide same day assessment, treatment and discharge for appropriate patients.
We are looking for an experienced Admin and clerical staff member to Join our current ward clerks on a permanent contract on the Acute Assessment Unit / SDEC. You will be the face of our unit as the first person to meet and greet any visitors who come to the unit. We will ensure that you are supported during your transition, in return we require excellent customer care skills and dedicated staff who want to help us continue to provide high standards of communication to patients and there relatives.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE English or Maths or equivalent at pass grade
Desirable criteria
- RSA 1 or equivalent
- NVQ in Admin/Customer Care
Experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Awareness of Data Protection Act
- Able to accurately input data
- Computer Literate
Desirable criteria
- Experience as a Ward Clerk within the NHS
- Previous clinical experience
- Knowledge of NHS administrative procedures
