Exciting times in MRI.  Newmarket CDC now open and planning for New Hospital. GE voyager, Siemens Altea and Aera systems.

Expanding service which covers 08-2000hr scanning 7 days per week

We want to look after our staff and need someone to champion  staff wellbeing,  training and professional development. 

Someone who can work extended days and weekends.

We are looking for an experienced MR radiographer looking for a new challenge, to support service managers. A great role model to support, to develop the MR team and services provided. To inspire our fabulous team

Expectations are to work between the CDC and WSHFT. Clinical time will be protected especially as this post  will involve teaching MRI to new radiographers.

We are fortunate to be able to offer post graduate opportunities for Radiographers.

Main duties of the job

This role is for someone who cares for staff. Looking to manage welfare from induction training,mentorship and staff development.

Understand how the undergraduate radiography course runs to enable teaching and supervision of students, providing a point of contact for students on placement.

Support with the development of staff induction and training competencies and records.

Develop opportunities for continued professional development for staff, liaising with radiologists and other professionals to provide teaching and promoting study events.

To provide teaching/training to the multidisciplinary teams that support MRI services.

To coordinate MRI applications training

Person specification

Education & Qualification

Essential criteria
  • • BSc/DCR Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • • Valid HCPC registration
  • • Comprehensive, up to date CPD portfolio related to advances in MRI imaging and/or leadership and management activities
  • • MRI course evidence, intermediate level.
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate / Masters level award in leadership / coaching and/or management or equivalent experience
  • Post graduate MRI qualification

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Significant clinical experience as a senior radiographer in MRI
  • • Evidence of team leadership and management skills
  • • Understanding of the current challenges within the MRI service
  • • Knowledge of booking and capacity planning
  • • Understanding of the full range of work procedures and practices requiring expertise within the specialism of MRI imaging
Desirable criteria
  • • Previous NHS experience
  • • Experience working in a hospital environment that supports a wide range of complex clinical examinations.
  • • Formal Management and/or Leadership qualification
  • • Experience of change management
  • • Experience and understanding of the Quality Standard in Imaging and associated processes

  • • Able to implement evidence- based practice
  • • Able to use a wide range of IT systems and programmes effectively
