Job overview
This position is for a Band 7 Clinical Manager responsible for the General Surgical team, which encompasses Colorectal, Upper Gastrointestinal, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Breast Surgery, and Robotics specialties.
As well as managing a team of Registered Nurses, OPDs and Theatre support workers, the role is clinically focused. The Candidate should possess extensive experience across multiple surgical disciplines.

Day to day running of the Theatre suite as coordinator
Multidisciplinary teams communications to ensure efficient patient flow
managing team attendance, optimal staff utilisation

central point of contact for clinical & administrative issues

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- • NMC Part 1 of the register or HCPC registered
- Dip He / NVQ Level 3 in Operating Department Practice
Desirable criteria
- • Diploma/Certificate in Leadership/Management
- • Evidence of current Post Registration education
- • Master’s Degree
- • BSc (Hons) Operating department practice/ Adult nursing
Experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Experience at a Senior level – Band 6 or above
- • Previous Departmental Management experience
- • Evidence of operationally managing a broad range of specialties
- • Experience of Human Resource management and developing personnel
- • Knowledge of budgetary, financial control
- • Knowledge of audit process and research based practice.

- • Evidence of recent involvement in clinical update
