Job overview

Cardiac rehab specialist nurse – B5.

We are looking for a passionate and committed nurse who has the ability to work well and be flexible within a multi disciplinary team.  They should have previous experience  in caring for cardiology patients. our ideal applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and work well within a team.  

Helping to deliver a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation programme, providing secondary prevention, education and exercise supervision to patients who have experienced cardiac intervention or who have been diagnosed with Heart failure.  Contributing to a multi disciplinary approach to the care of the cardiac patient. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will review and triage referrals, provide advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health professionals following cardiac surgery/intervention.  They will support and assist in delivering cardiac rehab exercise/activity programme to patients.  The role involves attending multidisciplinary meetings, providing input on physical and phycological care.

  • BLS

  • Recognised post registration cardiac course
  • Clinical Educator/Supervisor Training

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Post registration cardiac ward/cardiac rehab experience
  • Basic understanding of CHD
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of NSF for CHD
  • Knowledge of BACPR Standards for Cardiac Rehabilitation
