We are looking for a Senior Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Technologist to join our nuclear medicine team at West Suffolk Hospital. Please note that we will also accept applications from experienced band 6 Radiographers looking for a training opportunity. 

This post may involve a period of PLEASE NOTE: training at Master’s level. The successful candidate will be paid at AfC band 6 throughout the training period (approximately 12 months) and will move up to band 7 upon successful completion of a post-graduate qualification, achievement of required competencies and approval to work independently. 

We are a small department but continue to expand the service and examinations we carry out. We are supported by Consultant Radiologists/ARSAC holders both in-house and remotely. However the role will require an element of lone working and higher level decision-making at times.

This is an exciting time to join WSFT while we are planning for the new acute hospital expected to open in 2030.

Main duties of the job

To image patients in Nuclear Medicine to the required standard and ensure that radiation doses are compliant to the IR(ME)R regulations. Participate in departmental quality assurance programmes and safety procedures as required. Maintain an interest in the profession and knowledge of new techniques and protocols, attending courses where necessary in line with service demand. Participate in the training programs in place for students. Remain professional at all times. Liaise with other clinical teams and maintain good relations with the general public and external agencies.
