Job overview

We are looking for a CT Imaging Assistant to join our growing team. We are in the process of developing our services at the new Newmarket Community Diagnostic Centre. We are looking to ensure our services are robust in providing high quality CT scanning.

CT Imaging Assistants are pivotal in the care provided for our patients and are fully integrated into the CT team. Wellbeing is a priority for our staff and staff are highly valued across the team.

We are in need of additional staff to develop the service at the Newmarket CDC, as well as to support staff at the West Suffolk Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve being responsible for providing a range of personal care to patients and for carrying out a range of clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional. Undertake high quality, caring and compassionate personal care/clinical and associated duties under the direction and supervision of the registered professional both independently and working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

 

The CT Imaging assistant will make a valuable and important contribution to the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Trust. Your role is to support the registered professional in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate care to patients and their relatives.

 

We are looking for a candidate who is  ambitious, a motivated learner, a team player, has a passion for a career in cross sectional imaging with patient care at the forefront of their practice.

We are at an extremely exciting phase in our development with the new CDC underway.  The department has QSI accreditation which we are extremely proud of, demonstrating our commitment to quality care.

 

West Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust is a district general hospital in the beautiful market town, Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.  The surrounding area has plenty to offer for all ages. With easy access to London, Cambridge and Ipswich.

Education & Qualification

Essential criteria
  • • Good level of written Language and IT skills
  • • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or has equivalent clinical experience
  • • Care Certificate
  • • Evidence of ongoing CPD
Desirable criteria
  • • Previous experience of being an Imaging Assistant or Health Care Support Worker
  • • GCSE English Language and Maths A to C or 4 -9 or functional skills or equivalent

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Experience of working in a health, social or residential care setting
  • • To demonstrate a range of procedures and practices, base level of theoretical knowledge
  • • Demonstrate through previous experience the ability to escalate concerns
  • • Ability to work in a multi-agency team
  • • Ability to work alone or in small team
  • • Ability to work with staff from a diverse range of backgrounds
Desirable criteria
  • • Willingness to support the team by undertaking ‘link role’ training, attending meetings and sharing information with colleagues
