An exciting opportunity has arisen to further improve the Ophthalmology Department at Ashford Hospital.
This role for Clinical Office Administrative Co-ordinator is required to provide administrative support within the main clinical office. Candidates are required to have a high level of organisational skills and someone who is good at communicating with a wide range of health care professionals as well as patients and their relatives.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising timetables, dealing with clinic capacity and the outpatient waiting lists for both new and follow up patients. Ideally the successful candidate will have an understanding of the 18 week pathway.
You will be working in a large but busy team responsible for the day-to-day management of the clinical office. You will act as a point of contact for patients, Consultants, Nurses, Orthoptists, photographers and other departments.
You will be expected to support your colleagues and Team Leaders/ Assistant Service Manager in the Clinical Office completing administration duties.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Successful candidates need to hold an RSA, NVQ or equivalent typing/ computer skills with English GCSE as minimum and experience of using Microsoft Office package.
You need to have previous admin experience of working in a busy office dealing with conflicting demands. It is important in this role to be able to communicate effectively and take personal responsibility.
The is a full time position from 09:00-17:00, Monday- Friday.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
