Job overview

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to join our dedicated team at Heathlands.

We are a dynamic unit providing rehab care to 20 patients.

As a junior sister you / charge nurse, you will work closely with our MDT to support in optimising a patients rehab journey and facilitating a safe discharge plan home for them.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills, someone compassionate and enthusiastic about supporting our patients to reach their full potential.

 

Main duties of the job

To be responsible and accountable for assessment of care needs and 
the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of 
care without supervision. 
• To lead and monitor performance  
•Lead on projects and audits as appropriate 
• Contribute to the development of the service and personal 
development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility 
• Deputise for the ward Sister/Matron in their absence.

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a medical ward.
  • Competent in basic life support and IV administration
Desirable criteria
  • Experience at working in a band 6 role.

.Qualification

Essential criteria
  • current nmc registration
  • ENB 998 teaching and assessing course or a mentorship equivalent
  • to work flexibly, days, nights and weekends
Desirable criteria
  • competent in the use of EPIC
  • to have had some experience working in the acute sector
  • degree level registration

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of good leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to use the EPIC.
