Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is undertaking an exciting transformation of its community mental health services through the development of integrated neighbourhood mental health teams. We are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions through robust clinical pathways, ensuring timely access to care for people who use our services.

To support this transformation, we are investing in a range of psychological professions and are recruiting for a Band 8a Psychologist to our Neighbourhood Community Mental Health Service in Tandridge.

About the Role

This role will work across in our newly established Community Neighbourhood Teams, contributing to the delivery of integrated, person-centred mental health care.

 You will play a key role in supporting service users through evidence-based psychological practice within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Main duties of the job

As part of our transition to a neighbourhood model of care, we are developing integrated clinical pathways across primary, secondary care and crisis and emergency service.


Our pathways embody strong partnership working with a wide range of statutory and VCSE providers and people with lived experience. Each of the advertised roles is key to ensuring therapies pathways are high quality, effective and accessible across the adult age range, and that psychosocial interventions are embedded in wider service delivery.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent.
  • Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course to enable supervision of trainees (or completion within 6 months of commencement in post)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with people from across the life span with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.
  • Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapeutic.
  • Demonstrable post registration/clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group
  • Experience of contributing to clinical practice/service development/project work
  • Demonstrable interest/skill in a relevant specialist area
  • Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work.
  • Experience of supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists

Registration

  • HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist
