Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team of dedicated consultants working in a friendly, flexible, and cohesive group. We are enthusiastic, welcoming and proactive in supporting special interests

We offer clinics in general and paediatric dermatology, a joint paediatric allergy-dermatology clinic, a pregnancy dermatoses clinic, patch testing clinics, biologics and systemics clinics, two week rule clinics, skin lesion clinics, complex cases clinics (attended by all consultants), minor operative lists, as well as dermatopathology meetings. 

Main duties of the job

This is a Specialty Doctor post with a weekly commitment of 10 PAs for full time equivalents, part-time hours are also available.

The post holder will

  • Play an active part in the management of patients under the care of the department
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of practice.
  • Take an active role in all activities of the department, including teaching and audit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Work with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality well-led service for patients of Ashford & St Peter’s and Royal Surrey County Hospital, including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients in accordance with Trust policies and practices. 

Deliver Direct Clinical Care to patients, through all parts of the Department assisting clinical decision-making and sharing equally in the workload. 

Have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, ensuring safe handover as appropriate.

  • Full registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council at time of appointment.
