Job overview

This post is a fantastic leadership opportunity to shape the future of dietetic services in Surrey.  Working across organisational boundaries, you will inspire and develop creative teams to deliver innovative services that meet the needs of our local population.   You will be responsible for around forty dietitians and services spanning across adults, paediatrics, acute and community settings with specialities including gastro, diabetes and bariatrics.   Working closely with other professions, you will be an integral part of the therapies senior leadership team. 

Main duties of the job

 Be responsible for the planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the provision of dietetic services in medical, surgical, critical care inpatients, outpatients and community

Ensure effective high quality delivery of the above services in the Trust

Recruit and retain high quality staff and manage teams with the appropriate skills and experience to deliver high quality care

 Ensure that all staff have personal development reviews and that their development needs are identified and addressed

Promote clinical governance through the implementation of high standards of clinical practice, professional development of staff through training and education and the management of clinical risk.

Play a key role in the therapy management team for issues affecting the services and teams.

Be part of establishing and developing the strategic direction and potential of Therapy Services within the Trust

Represent therapy services at a range of forums, deputising for the Associate Director of Therapies as required

Manage budgets for allocated services ensuring efficient and effective use of resources and identifying opportunities for cost savings
