Job overview

This is an exciting and newly created role for a dynamic governance professional. Working with the Associate Director of Governance and the Corporate Governance Manager, the post holder will ensure the Trust’s Corporate Affairs and Governance are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will coordinate and support the effective operation of Executive and corporate governance business across Group and Trust structures, supporting the flow of assurance, information and decision-making. The role supports the planning and delivery of Executive, Board and Committee processes, maintains governance cycles and contributes to corporate risk reporting. Working closely with the Associate Director of Corporate Affairs & Governance and Corporate Governance Manager, the post holder acts as a key link between Executive support, directorates and governance forums, providing resilience across Corporate Governance and Executive Office functions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

·       Support the Associate Director of Corporate Affairs & Governance in the planning and servicing of Group and Trust Executive and committee meetings.

·       Ensure the effective flow of business across governance forums.

·       Provide highly professional corporate governance support including coordinating agendas, collating and circulating papers, taking formal minutes, tracking actions and maintaining the Board and Group committee cycle of business.

·       Provide cover for defined operational governance responsibilities in the absence of the Corporate Governance Manager.

·       Support the Corporate Risk Manager with Trust processes to capture and report key risks, ensuring that risks are escalated appropriately through the Trust’s governance framework.

·       Support the Corporate Affairs team in a range of governance processes and projects including, but not limited to maintaining disclosures of interests, fit and proper person records and the register of corporate policies.

·       Act as a key coordination point across governance processes and executive business, providing resilience and cross-cover across the Corporate Governance and Executive Support team.

  • • Educated to Degree level or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience

  • • Governance (ICSA) qualification

Experience

  • • Significant experience in a senior administrative or governance support role, including managing competing priorities and working with minimal supervision.(3 years)
