Job overview
The Director and Head of Midwifery are recruiting for a PA to provide them administrative support.
The Maternity Department are looking for a enthusiastic and experienced PA to support the Director and Head of Midwifery in administrative tasks to deliver the strategic objectives of the division.
The ideal successful candidate will be an experienced Personal Assistant, highly organised in order to meet tight deadlines with excellent diary management and meeting scheduling skills and liaising with the different stakeholders effectively and professional.
Flexible working patterns are encouraged and will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will:
- Provide comprehensive confidential and professional administrative and secretarial service to the Maternity Management team.
- Ensuring that all work is dealt with promptly and efficiently and in accordance with the Trust’s Policies and Procedures. A high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality is required.
- Support The Director and Head of Midwifery in delivery of Divisional strategic projects.
Support Divisional and Specialty Governance meetings with minute taking and action logs.

Qualifications and Further Training
Essential criteria
- • Secretarial training qualification (e.g. RSA, BTEC) • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualifications and/or training
- Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Significant administrative experience. • Handling enquiries from the public and other departments, able to mange complex diaries and emails, Ability to work under pressure • Ability to deal with confidential issues
Desirable criteria
- Maternity department experience, NHS experience

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
