We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Band 6 Antenatal clinic Midwife!
Our maternity team provides a forward-thinking environment, offering comprehensive and high-quality care to women and their families. Our team are committed to promoting person/woman-centred, individualised care to a diverse population.
- We care for approximately 4,300 women annually across our two sites, utilising digital maternity systems.
- Comprehensive Service Offering: Includes assisted conception, community services, obstetric-led labour wards, birth centres, specialist midwifery teams, and home birth team.
- Positive Feedback: Women and families consistently report positive experiences, highlighting the quality of care provided. The 2024 Maternity Benchmark survey demonstrated ESTH performed above average, particularly in postnatal care.

Main duties of the job
At Epsom and St Helier we pride ourselves in offering flexible working arrangements, a robust in service training package and a positive working culture. Our antenatal clinic midwives provide an excellent standard of midwifery care in the clinic setting. They will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of midwifery care and will supervise other midwives, preceptors, maternity assistants and students as necessary.
Role will include:
- Assessing, planning and implementing care plans in partnership with women and their families and the wider healthcare team.
- Monitoring and evaluating plan of care, escalate any deviations from the norm to the MDT
- Providing care in antenatal clinics in the hospital clinic environment
- Within limitations of service, strive for continuity and promote informed client choice
We are seeking experienced midwives with a great team ethic and willingness to provide women/person-centered antenatal care.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife with active UK NMC Pin
- Completed Preceptorship program
- Mentorship qualification or SSSA equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of post-registration education activity
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent experience across a range of maternity settings
- Experience of mentoring junior staff or students
Desirable criteria
- Experience of conducting antenatal clinics
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Good IT and administration skills
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Digital Maternity systems (eg. Badgernet, iClip)
