An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and be part of our dynamic Occupational Therapy Service within Mid Surrey Community Mental Health Team for Older People (CMHTOP) based in Epsom.
You will be working closely with the Lead Occupational Therapist to provide the following:
- Comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions (using Model of Human Occupation)
- Individual occupational therapy
- Memory Matters Programme
- Lifestyle Matters Programme
The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to offering extensive, co-ordinated CPD programmes including a robust supervision structure, Care Group meetings, Occupational Therapy Forums, Core Skills training and an annual conference.
The candidate must have a full and valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.
This post will be suitable for newly qualified Occupational Therapists, who will be supported through Preceptorship, or established Band 5 Occupational Therapists, looking for a new opportunities.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:
- To provide high quality occupational therapy assessments for people who access the service, adapting the approach as and when needed.
- To provide evidence based and outcome measured occupational therapy interventions (individual and group), as outlined in the occupational therapy pathway.
- To keep up to date with current evidence-based practice, research and national guidelines within your clinical area.
- To communicate in an effective and compassionate way with people who access services, carers/family members/supporters, other clinicians and agencies/services.
- To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures.
- To engage in your own CPD to ensure that you have the knowledge and skills to deliver high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- To provide supervision (if relevant to post) and mentoring to junior occupational therapy staff, occupational therapy apprentices, activity coordinators and support workers.
- To provide clinical placements for occupational therapy students.
- To lead on project work relevant to the team/service, with support from the Lead Occupational Therapist.
