Job overview
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of Cancer Services and support the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-focused care.
We are seeking a motivated and well-organised individual to provide high-quality administrative support to the Cancer Lead, Head of Cancer Nursing, and the wider senior nursing team within Cancer Services. You will play a key role in ensuring that all documentation and data input relating to cancer services are accurate, timely, and in line with Trust standards.
The role also involves supporting a range of key Cancer Service meetings, including preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, and coordinating follow-up actions. Meetings you will be involved in include the Cross-Site Trust Cancer Unit Steering Group, Chemotherapy Steering Group, and Cancer Nursing & AHP forums.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the senior nursing team and cancer services. Key responsibilities include:

Managing orders for uniforms, stationery, equipment, and submitting external invoices via the Trust’s E-Proc system.

Coordinating Cancer Service meetings such as the Cancer Unit Steering Group (CUSG) and Clinical Chemotherapy Steering Group (CCSG), including scheduling meetings, sending diary invites, maintaining distribution lists, and preparing agendas and minutes.

Organising and taking minutes for monthly cross-site meetings including Cancer CNS/AHP/Navigator, Senior Nurses, CPES, and Cancer Patient Experience meetings.

Supporting senior nurses and line managers with interview room bookings and new starter induction checklists.

Maintaining and updating the Cancer CNS/AHP contact list and email distribution lists on a monthly basis.

Assisting with the organisation of training sessions and events for cancer teams.

Providing support with the preparation, formatting, and distribution of reports.

Offering ad hoc administrative assistance to the Clinical Psychologist and Cancer Performance Lead as required.

Essential criteria
- Good education to GCSE standard (GCSE Maths and English) or equivalent experience
- NVQ Level 3 Administration or equivalent practical knowledge
Desirable criteria
- ECDL or equivalent

- Experience of working in an office environment
- Competent with current software programmes (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Be able to work in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure
- Experience of working within a team environment

- Working in the NHS either in a hospital/private practice/GP setting
