Are you passionate about supporting learning and information services?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated and organised Library Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in delivering and promoting high-quality library and knowledge services to staff and students.
What you’ll do:
- Provide front-line support to library users, including answering enquiries and assisting with resources.
- Assisting with the document delivery service
- Dealing with overdue stock
- Assist with administrative tasks and contribute to the smooth running of the library.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong IT skills and willingness to learn library systems.
- Previous experience in a library or customer service environment is desirable but not essential.
Main duties of the job
To carry out varied library tasks such as maintaining stock control; promoting the library’s services, resources and facilities; assisting with the document delivery service; dealing with overdue stock; checking new books in and monitoring open orders; processing new books on arrival and staffing the enquiry desk and attending to users.
