12-Month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Ward Clerk to join our team on Ward  F9, a 33-bedded Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology ward at Frimley Park Hospital.

This is a key frontline role for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, and experience working with the public. You will provide high-quality reception and administrative support, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the ward.

As the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties. These include managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges using EPIC, liaising closely with clinical teams to resolve queries, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. You will also be responsible for ordering essential ward supplies via EPROC, as well as supporting data collection for audits and research when required.

This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.

 

Main duties of the job

  • To provide administration cover for the ward.
  • Key tasks would be to process patients’ admissions, transfers, discharges on EPIC and liaise with ward staff to resolve any problems.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels of day-to-day supplies using EPROC.
  • Assisting with data collection for audits and research as required.

  • Previous experience undertaking a range of clerical and administrative tasks
  • High Standard of IT literacy/experience in computer use

  • Previous health care experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work unsupervised at times and the ability to prioritise workloads under the guidance of line manager/Shift in Charge
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate well at all levels, both face to face and by telephone
  • Ability to support clinical staff with patient and carers needs (non-clinical)
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
