Medical Respiratory Physiotherapy Team  - FPH

Are you enthusiastic and compassionate with experience of working within the NHS?

We are looking for a  Band 3 Physio technician to join the Medical Respiratory team.

The team provides respiratory and rehabilitation services to the patients across M block including MADU - the Medical Acute Dependency Unit.  You would be working alongside senior physiotherapists as well as managing your own caseload/ interventions across the medical respiratory wards.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the service you will:

  • Assist physiotherapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitation to respiratory patients in the acute phase of their illness.
  • Work closely with physiotherapists and the rest of the MDT to provide holistic care.
  • Manage a basic caseload of patients including initial assessment and discharging patients with support as required from a senior physiotherapist.
  • Assist with non clinical tasks including statistics, ordering of equipment, maintaining stock and cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Desirable criteria
  • Associate member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  • Documented evidence of C.P.D.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • To have had experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant in the relevant speciality (Respiratory Medicine).
  • To have worked as part of a team.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Interpersonal skills to include concise and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Organisational skills
  • IT literate
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Teaching skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to present information to a small group.
