Supply Chain Manager

Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Supply Chain Manager to lead and deliver a high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective materials management service across our three main hospital sites.
This on-site role requires regular weekly travel between Frimley Park, Wexham Park, and Heatherwood Hospitals.
As part of our Supply Chain function, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring the smooth delivery of clinical and non-clinical supplies to support outstanding patient care across all departments.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

Leading the Supply Chain and Materials Management teams across the Trust, ensuring service excellence and best practice.

Overseeing the operation, development and continuous improvement of our inventory management system, maximising its efficiency and value.

Driving performance to meet service standards and objectives, managing supply chain projects in line with the Trust’s procurement strategy.

Developing innovative supply chain initiatives to enhance processes, reduce waste, and deliver long-term value for money.

Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with clinical departments, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Acting as a subject matter expert in supply chain operations, providing leadership, expertise and guidance to your team.

Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and NHS guidelines.

Solving complex challenges and making informed, strategic decisions to improve service delivery.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Advanced IT skills
- Educated to A level or equivalent
- Evidence of related CPD in the last 24 months
- Evidence of MS office suite
Desirable criteria
- Member of CIPS or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 Logistics Operations Management
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive Management experience in Operational Supply Chain in a hospital or Healthcare related environment
- Previous Logistics and Supply Chain experience within a complex organisation
- Experience of working as part of a change management process
- Analysis of statistical data and present clear and concise reports across the organisation
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Working with stock management and purchasing systems
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with senior staff and clinicians
- Experience of staff recruitment and performance appraisals
- Experience of project management
- Evidence of line managing large teams of people
- Delivering training and education
Skills/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of NHS Supply chain software & concepts
- Basic principles of effective supervision and motivation
- Detailed knowledge of inventory management processes
- Negotiation skills and the ability to effectively communicate/influence at all levels

- Leadership, motivational and teamworking skills

- Report generation and data manipulation techniques
- Strong and accurate IT skills particularly spreadsheets and databases
- Understanding of Standing Financial Instructions
- Previous experience using Omnicell inventory management system
- Previous experience using eProc and eFin
