Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Associate to join our dedicated and compassionate nursing team in Trauma & Orthopaedics as permanent and secondment post. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and person-centred care.

As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of Team Nursing, taking responsibility for your allocated patients and ensuring care is delivered to the highest standard.

About you:

  • You will be a Registered Nurse Associate (NMC registered).

  • You will have excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • You will be a team player, flexible in your approach, and able to work effectively in a busy environment.

  • You will have a passion for delivering exceptional care and supporting others to achieve the same.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing excellent patient care and ensuring that patients always come first.
  • Undertaking a range of delegated clinical care duties within your level of competency, acting on your own initiative to deliver agreed care plans.
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of Team Nursing within the clinical area.
  • Accurately recording and reflecting care provided in the electronic patient record system (EPIC).
  • Mentoring and supporting new care assistants as they complete the Care Certificate.
  • Ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care and an excellent patient experience, with respect for their customs, religious beliefs, and personal preferences.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered nursing associate on the NMC register
  • GCSE grade A- C
Desirable criteria
  • Level 3 Health related qualificaction

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of involvement in support / development of less experienced staff

Skills

Essential criteria
  • IT knowledge e.g word and excel
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise
  • Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting.
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation
  • Ability to deal with nonroutine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
