Current NMC registration

Desirable criteria

BSC Nursing

Experience

Essential criteria

Some experience working in an acute hospital trust within the last 2 years in the capacity of a registered nurse or student nurse

Desirable criteria

Recent experience working with adults with long term respiratory conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma and COPD

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

Ability to provide nursing care of high standard
Ability to prioritise workload for self and support staff
Able to raise issues of clinical care with peers, doctors and line management
Self motivated and able to motivate others
Competent in IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
