We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse to join our dedicated Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Frimley Park Hospital. Our purpose-built unit provides specialist care for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, and occasionally for those with other respiratory conditions. The unit comprises five inpatient rooms and five outpatient consultation rooms, offering a unique setting where you can develop specialist skills while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job
- With minimal supervision , be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients needs
- To assist in promotion of health
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of infection control standards and promote these within a unit environment
- To participate and assist in the systematic monitoring and evaluation of nursing care
- To liaise with the team leaders on untoward incidents ,complaints and team/staff issues
- To act in accordance with the trust policies
- To maintain your own profile
- To act as a mentor to care assistants and assist in the induction of new staff
- To support maintain team nursing, promoting good working relationship s within the MDT and internal and external contacts
- To attend meetings and generate new ideas and initiatives
- To attend mandatory updates in Fire, manual handling and blood transfusion
- To act as nurse in charge of the unit, co-ordinating admissions, transfers and discharges
- To ensure confidentiality or patients information regarding patients, families and friends at all time

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse level 1
- Current NMC registration
Desirable criteria
- BSC Nursing
Experience
Essential criteria
- Some experience working in an acute hospital trust within the last 2 years in the capacity of a registered nurse or student nurse
Desirable criteria
- Recent experience working with adults with long term respiratory conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma and COPD
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to provide nursing care of high standard
- Ability to prioritise workload for self and support staff
- Able to raise issues of clinical care with peers, doctors and line management
- Self motivated and able to motivate others
- Competent in IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
