An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of well-established community recovery team in South West Surrey.

The role will serve 9.5 hours Surrey Heath CMHRS, Theta, Lyon Way,
Frimley, GU16 7ER, and 28 hours Waverley CMHRS, Berkeley House,
11-13 Ockford Road, Godalming, GU7 1QU.

The post offers a diverse range of experience working with people with complex mental health difficulties. You will join a friendly and supportive group of psychologists in the locality and there will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills through CPD & through the bespoke  psychology mentoring programme. The trust has an enviable care pathways system which values psychology, psychotherapy and the arts psychotherapies and there are opportunities to train in DBT, CBT for psychosis, family interventions, CBT for personality disorders, compassion-focussed supervision and structured clinical management. Employees are also able to access leadership and management as well as coaching and mentoring and additional supervisors training.

The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role and the large geographical area that this post covers.

Main duties of the job

Please note that your expected to work at CMHRS Waverley, 28hrs,  Berkeley House, 11-13 Ockford Road, Godalming,  GU7 1QU and  CMHRS Surrey Heath, 9.5hrs Theta, Lyon Way, Frimley, GU16 7ER.

Main duties:

- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.

- To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students
- Promoting a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues
 - Work collaboratively with team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services
- The postholder will be expected to work flexibly within the service
-  To lead on complex and challenging cases and develop expertise within area of specialism
- Participating in the recruitment and selection of staff
 -  Leading on a specific service development projects

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent
  • Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course to enable supervision of Trainees (or completion within 12 months of commencement in post).
  • Driving license suitable for use in the United Kingdom
  • HCPC Registered

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course and with presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity (including complex/severe mental health needs population).
  • Experience of specialist Psychological assessment and treatment across care settings
  • Maintenance of a high degree of professionalism in the face of emotive and distressing problems, and distressed behaviours of persons using the service
  • Experience of contributing to clinical practice/service development/project work
  • Experience of delivering supervision
  • Demonstrable interest/skill in complex mental health and/or inpatient settings
