Senior Datix Analyst

AfC Band 6

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join us as a Senior Datix Analyst within our Quality Governance Team.

This is a specialist role supporting the Trust’s local risk management system, currently DatixWeb. We are looking for someone with direct, practical experience of working with local risk management systems used in NHS or healthcare settings. This may include systems such as DatixWeb, DatixCloudIQ, Ulysses, InPhase, Radar or similar.

This is not a generic data analyst role. Applicants must clearly demonstrate experience of using or administering a safety Incident and risk governance system. Applications that do not clearly evidence relevant system experience are unlikely to be shortlisted.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
-  Direct experience of using or administering a local risk management system, such as Datix, Ulysses, InPhase, Radar or similar.
 -  Experience of working with incident, risk, governance or patient safety data.
 -  Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to develop clear reports and dashboards.
 -  Good understanding of data quality and the importance of accurate incident and risk information.
 -  Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to support staff at all levels.
 -  A proactive and collaborative approach to system improvement, problem-solving and service development.

Experience of working in the NHS, or within a healthcare governance, risk or patient safety environment, would be highly desirable.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be the Trust’s in-house Datix specialist, supporting staff across our Divisions and satellite sites to use the system effectively. You will provide system advice, training and support, help maintain the quality and accuracy of data, develop reports and dashboards, and support the use of incident and risk information to identify themes, trends and learning.

The role will also support the Trust’s future transition to a new incident management system and continued development of reporting to the national Learning from Patient Safety Events service.

We anticipate a high level of interest in this vacancy and reserve the right to close the advert early. Candidates are therefore advised to submit their application as soon as possible. Late applications will not be accepted once the vacancy has closed.
