The post would be suitable for a Nurse, or a Nuclear Medicine trained Radiographer, Technologist or Physicist.  Based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, this is a unique opportunity to join an enthusiastic and highly motivated team providing clinical trial support in Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

Your role will be to provide support to clinical trials involving Nuclear Medicine imaging and Molecular Radiotherapy at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.  You will work within a team consisting of 3 radiographers and 2 clinical trial coordinators that also supports external beam and brachytherapy research, but you will maintain close links with the Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics departments.  You will be involved in all aspects of clinical research, from scoping new trials, through set-up, costing and feasibility assessments, to patient recruitment, data collection, quality assurance and follow-up.  The clinical trials include multi-centre commercial and non-commercial studies, as well as locally-led research projects in imaging and therapy.

Main duties of the job

The role of the research practitioner at The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RSCH) will be to support the set up and delivery of research within the radiation oncology setting. The role will involve screening patients and monitoring patients during studies, assisting with clinical investigations and the collection and documentation of accurate data.
