Job overview
To ensure people using our services receive the right medicines at the right time in the right place by supporting provision of Pharmacy Operational Services. This will involve working with the team in managing supply and ordering of medicines and assisting senior colleagues including Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists.
Must hold a UK NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy
Main duties of the job
- Carry out labelling and dispensing of medications, including Clozapine, discharge and short-term leave supplies for both inpatient and community teams.
- Visit wards to carry out stock checks. Provide expiry date checks, removing and destroying expired medications.
- Assemble stock orders ready to send to wards on appropriate transport.
- Receive and confirm stock orders taken in from wholesalers.
- Take queries, both written and verbal, then signpost to the appropriate person with clear, concise messages.
- Take part in the temperature monitoring of departmental fridges and clinical rooms.
- Take part in stock checks including retrieval of medications from robot delivery system.
- Supporting FP10 management and purchasing of medications
- Keep up to date with Trust statutory and mandatory training.
- To undertake duties at the request of line manager that are correspondent with the role, e.g., rotation, absence cover etc.
