Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist with HCPC Registration to join our Trust-wide Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS). The post is substantive (1.0 WTE) and the successful applicant will be based within our day care unit. Prior experience of working with adults with moderate to severe eating disorder presentations is preferred, although the service will provide a tailored induction and training as might be required.
The post holder will be joining what are well-established outpatient and day care facilities for working age adults with more severe eating disorder presentations. They will be joining a warm and welcoming team with a passion for the delivery of high quality care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to deliver high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, both group and individual, to people who access services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with the occupational therapy pathways. They will also be required to contribute to the work of the wider MDT when staffing necessitates this, including the completion of day care preparation appointments and a limited amount of keywork. While most of the work will be undertaken within day care, the successful applicant will on occasion be asked to contribute to the delivery of the outpatient occupational therapy pathways. All duties will be undertaken with regular supervision in line with the successful applicant’s professional registration requirements.
This role will require you to travel between multiple sites within your working day sometimes travel between the AEDS bases (in Guildford and Epsom), and occasionally also to other Trust sites.
