ST3+
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trust Doctor to join the Oncology team at The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital (RSH) for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Here at the Royal Surrey, we aim to provide first class, high quality care for all of our patients in a friendly and professional setting. Our services have received national recognition and praise and our patients benefit from the latest and most innovative treatments available, delivered by a team of committed and highly skilled staff. You will be joining our team of 29 oncologists, supported by a team of Specialist Registrars, Specialty Doctors, SHOs, AHP’s and Specialist Nurses.
The successful applicant will be based at the RSH in Guildford providing a high level of medical care to the Oncology patients in the outpatient clinics.
Main duties of the job
This post is for a SpR LAS in Oncology, working alongside the existing Oncology medical staff. The post-holder will be attached to a particular Consultant/Consultant’s practise, and will work as part of this team, allowing for the development of a degree of site specialisation, with rotation between teams at intervals of 6-12 months to allow for a spread of experience. Whilst the needs of the service are paramount, individual training needs of the SpR LAS are taken into account in the job plans.

Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.
We have received an overall Good rating from the CQC with Medical care (including older peoples care), End of Life Care and Maternity services being deemed Outstanding by the CQC.
Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.
Although it isn't the Trusts normal practice, adverts may close early, so you are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.
