Job overview
We are looking for someone who will encourage our communities – especially those currently under-represented to increase uptake in clinical trials. Working closely with the research delivery team, post holder will co-lead a targeted nine-month campaign to increase awareness, understanding, and participation in research among underserved and underrepresented communities.
Main duties of the job
This a new role linking across our research and communications teams to deliver high-impact, content-driven storytelling and engagement activity to raise the profile and impact of research across SABP and with our local communities.
A core priority of this role will be to work closely with the Participant Inclusion & Research Engagement Lead to design and deliver a targeted nine-month outreach campaign to increase awareness, understanding, and participation in mental health research among under-served and under-represented communities.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Recognised qualification (certificate or diploma) in marketing, communications or public relations OR equivalent experience OR a masters degree in a subject relevant to the role.
- Highly specialist knowledge of communications, public relations and marketing communications techniques, normally acquired through degree-level study or equivalent experience, together with further specialist development and experience in communications, engagement or campaign management to master’s-equivalent level.
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Experience in community engagement – preferable face-to-face
- • Experience in delivering successful internal and external communications and engagement and/or campaigns
- • Production of campaign, engagement or other material.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in mental health, healthcare, or academic research environments
- Knowledge of patient and public involvement (PPIE).
