Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated senior clinical / counselling psychologist or CBT Therapist with strong leadership skills to join our small and friendly team of clinicians at Here for You delivering individual and team psychological interventions to NHS and social care staff. 

The postholder will be expected to lead on developing and delivering workshops and individual psychological support sessions to staff who have contacted the service. We offer a wide range of psychological interventions within Here for You which we review and develop as required to meet the needs of our staff and the latest evidence-based practice. The post holder will play a key role in these developments.

This is an excellent opportunity to use and further develop leadership skills within a committed and supportive team; to lead in developing and delivering psychological staff support initiatives and play an important role in helping to supporting staff wellbeing. Working both within our organisation and across the whole system; a keenness to develop new skills and to deliver a responsive and compassionate service is essential. This role provides excellent opportunities for developing supervision skills and learning and shaping system and partnership working, working closely with the Head of Staff Support. 

Applicants must hold a professional registration with a regulated body. For non-psychologists they must hold NMC or social work England registration with BABCP accreditation.

Main duties of the job

To be part of the leadership team (along with Deputy Clinical Lead and the Head of Staff Support) within the team of psychological practitioners providing a specialist psychological and mental health support service to eligible staff who are experiencing a need for psychological support due reasons both within work and outside of work. 

In particular:

·       To offer individual specialist psychological assessment and therapy to referred staff.

·       To offer specialist post incident support to teams and individuals exposed to trauma.

    Develop and run workshops using psychoeducational and reflective practice skills relating to the evidence base for psychological interventions with staff.

·       Develop and deliver bespoke sessions to referred teams using the latest evidence based research.

·       To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking audit, research and service development activities relevant to the service area.

·       To proactively outreach to identified at risk groups of staff.

·       To work closely with Deputy Clinical Lead and the Head of Staff Support and playing a leadership role in developing this service across the system and with our partner organisations.

·       To offer supervision to other members of Here for You team as agreed with Head of Staff Support.

Essential criteria
  • HCPC Registered Psychologist or NMC Mental Health Nurse or Social Work England Registered Mental Health Social Worker with BABCP Accreditation
Desirable criteria
  • working within secondary care mental health service
  • training in Reflective Practice, CFT or post-incident support
