Job overview
Consultant in Cardiology
We are looking for a permanent Consultant Cardiologist, to provide a Cardiology service of the highest quality, ensuring that standards are maintained and developed through clinical audit, evidence-based research, job planning and appraisal and to work flexibly with colleagues to achieve the hospitals business strategy.
The key duties and responsibilities of the individuals appointed to the posts will be to:
- Lead the cardiology team to take care of patients under their care in CCU, Holmwood, cardiology day ward, post take and inter take in AMU and across all SASH wards.
- Develop standards, procedures, and systems to ensure safe, high quality and efficient patient care from the point of entry to admission or discharge.
- Support and develop research activity in the trust
- Work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective team working in the provision of Cardiac care to patients on a day-to-day basis
- Develop clinical guidelines to ensure best practice for the management of a wide range of Cardiac conditions.
- Play a strong role in risk management and governance.
- Participate in relevant medical audit and quality assurance processes.
