Lead Pharmacist Cancer Services
NHS AfC: Band 8a
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Lead Pharmacist to work in our Cancer Services team.
The successful applicant will join our busy team in providing a high-quality service to patients receiving treatment for haematological malignancies or solid tumours.
You will be supported to further develop your clinical skills within oncology pharmacy practice as well as being actively involved in the management and development of staff within the team.
In addition to this, you will be expected to analyse and present financial information, lead/take part in clinical audits and deliver education and training to pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
We are a friendly and progressive pharmacy department with a strong emphasis on training and development. Our pharmacy cancer services department forms part of the regional St Luke’s Cancer Alliance and we work closely with The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford to facilitate the care for our cancer patients.
For candidates with strong transferable skills, but no prior oncology experience, we are able to deliver comprehensive training on site.
For candidates working toward meeting the essential criteria, a progression post may be considered.
There is no on-call commitment, but participation in weekend working rotas is expected.
