Job overview

Are you a highly experienced pharmacy technician looking to be part of an exciting opportunity to develop the extended role of the medicines management pharmacy technician role? Do you want to make a real difference to patient care and the patient journey?

We are looking for a dynamic individual with an appropriate level of knowledge and skills to join our team of lead medicines management pharmacy technicians (MMTs). The successful post holder will focus on leading medicines management in the Surgical Division, working closely with the other Lead Medicines Management Technicians to ensure there is a safe and effective day to day delivery of the technical aspects of pharmacy ward-based services across the Trust.

In addition to the ward based MMT role, you will also be expected to:

·       Support, train and develop new or inexperienced staff to develop their ward-based competencies and skills

·       Be involved in the training and development of pre-registration pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacy technicians

·       Develop your leadership and managerial skills by line-managing junior MMTs and other technical pharmacy staff

·       Work with the clinical support areas of pharmacy to promote and enhance a safe and effective technical service
