Rotational Specialist Clinical Pharmacist

NHS AfC: Band 7

Trosolwg o'r swydd

Are you a Band 7 pharmacist looking for new role, or an experienced Band 6 that is ready to deliver this role either now, or within the next 6months.

To start as a band 7, you are required to have Stage 1 (Certificate) of the Foundation Programme or equivalent or be on target to achieve it in the next 6 months, alongside meeting the other essential requirements in the job description. If you do not quite meet these requirements you could be considered for the structured band 6 to 7 progression.

Most of our band 7s are ward-based in the morning, leaving the afternoon to focus on development work such as teaching, guideline review, discharge co-ordination and operational projects. Our rotations include respiratory, acute, cardiology, cancer, elderly, WaCH, ePMA,,general medicine critical care, surgery, antimicrobial stewardship and Education & Training.  We work within mini-teams comprised of Band 6 pharmacists, technicians, trainee pharmacists and assistants led by the Band 7 pharmacist and clinically supported and overseen by the Band 8 clinical lead.

Our department has a strong emphasis on training and development, working closely with HEE and the HEIs of Medway, Kings and UCL to deliver the diploma programme, CEPIP and independent prescribing qualifications. For those who have completed the diploma, opportunities include non-medical prescribing, becoming a designated supervisor for trainee pharmacists and other line management.
